Partnership Development:
Founded 2011, GoCardless are the pioneers of enabling Direct Debits to SMEs.
For my company, Nexolutions, collecting Direct Debits was a must for hosting services etc.
Past experience dealing with Direct Debit bureau's and Banks required a £100k reserve holding at minimum for the risk that the Direct Debit guarantee held.
I was an early participant in using GoCardless for myself but also saw a market for others using the system for their businesses.
Contacting the founders in 2012 I introduced the idea of partnerships going further than just accounting systems and opening up the program to other companies.
Luckily they listened and provided companies like ours with a £50 per merchant referred. This was a great opportunity for us to create an extra revenue stream from our clients abut also a great concept that was taken forward by this now titan of a FinTech company.
